Description
Back when the ideas of honoring the 100th Anniversary of Naval Aviation came about, an idea was passed on about marking that event by repainting Gate Guard F-14 Tomcats in a variety of schemes to also commemorate the fact that Grumman Aviation has played a major role in the development of carrier aviation, from the FF-1 "Flying Barrel" right to the famed F-14 Tomcat and hopefully soon again with the 6th generation fighter jets for the Navy - but in this case, one of the ideas was to paint one bird with the colors of the 1930's "Yellow Wings" to illustrate VF-6 from the carrier USS Enterprise, the "Big E" of World War Two - an intriguing idea that now has been replicated with a real model, using an F-14B "Bombcat" kit, detailed cockpit, and a pair of laser guided bombs, just as the earlier Grumman F-2F and F-3F biplanes could carry bombs. It turned out pretty well, with "100th Anniversary of Naval Aviation" marking and the ubiquitous "Tomcat" markings to honor Grumman Aviation.GENERAL NOTE: although this will be packaged in peanuts and bubble wrap, small parts may come off due to the wonderful handling skills of the "professional" USPS people, so Insurance for 0.00 WILL be added as I don't trust them as far as I can throw ANY of them, and I want you to be satisfied. Many hours were spent creating this, and I don't want them wasted due to incompetence.
Please check out the rest of the inventory I am placing up for sale over this weekend - thanks in advance, and questions are always welcomed.
