Description

1899-Cn Mexican 1 Peso, Culiacan Mint, authenticated / graded / encapsulated at AU Details by NGC, due to cleaning.  This cleaning must have been light and inconsequential, though, correct as NGC must be, as little damage is apparent and not only does the lustre still show, but even toning reappeared ages ago.  Accordingly, this must be a very high Almost Uncirculated.  You don't see coins from the Culiacan Mint all that often, either.
Converted to the Mexican hallmark Peso from its 8 Reales predecessor, these proud descendants of the Spanish Eight Reales and European Thaler, and fellow coin to the American silver dollar, are among the HOTTEST coins of the year.  I cannot find fault with discerning collectors, as there is a lot to admire from these forerunners of the equally large silver peso and cousin to our own US dollar:  high .902 silver content, beautiful designs, sharp strikes as a norm, and symbols of rich Mexican 19th century history, which started with its independence.  We are pleased to offer you this high-grade, almost uncirculated (details) specimen that must have been carefully saved and preserved to get to us.  The details rating this time means a nice coin at a more affordable price!
