    Description

    Pavla 72049 1/72 Fiat Cr.42 Italian WW2 Biplane Fighter
This auction is for a single open (i.e. plastic seal on box has bneen cut) kit as shown. This new-tool 2004 kit is reasonably simple, but well-detailed, with the single sprue of plastic parts and bag of resin parts, most of which provide for a very detailed cockpit area, as well as engine, cowling, and wheels. Cockpit sidewall detail is confined to rib impressions on the insides of the fuselage but the whole is very adequately cluttered after assembly. Optional bits are provided to allow several versions of the Cr.42 to be built, including spatted and unspatted landing gear, two air filters, two propeller spinner assemblies, underwing bomb racks for the AS version, and what look like extended exhausts and underwing lights for the CN night fighter. The wind screen is vac-formed but it looks like there're two of 'em. Decals, in new condition, provide markings (3rd picture) for three Italian and one Hungarian aircraft, all in some variation of green and/or brown over sand, over pale grey camouflage. This is a short-run kit, meaning you need to be careful when building it. But the results are worth it; built the kit looks great. The box is in new condition beyond the seal being cut and this kit's lived in a smoke-free house for its entire life. Build it!
