Description
Pinchin Johnson was a well-known British manufacturer of paints and finishes in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This set would allow customers to envision how various PJ color scheme combinations might look on the walls of their homes, and was once complete with 1930s era furniture and artwork stamped out of metal, which could be placed against the walls and held by magnets. The closed case measures approximately 16 1/4" x 11 1/4" x 3 7/8" and contains two wood color scheme displayer frames, each measuring approximately 15" x 9 5/8", a wood board with brackets to hold the color samples for doors, walls and freezes and a folder containing the metal furniture and artwork pieces. The wood case latches shut and has a leather handle to carry the kit. I would guess that it belonged to a Pinchin Johnson store, and may have been taken to the homes of clients as well as used in the store to try out the colors - it is a uniquely wonderful period advertising piece!Buyer to pay for shipping via FedEx Ground/Home Delivery or USPS Priority Mail within the continental US.
